A Note From Legacies

Every day, I am struck by how wonderful Legacies is – as a store, as a place to work, as a business with a greater mission.

Our consignors continuously supply us with great product and high quality goods – interesting antiques and collectibles, beautiful handbags, fabulous furniture. We are so lucky to be supported by such a diverse and eclectic group.

Behind the scenes, our volunteers research the value of these goods, price them for sale and create beautiful vignettes to show the inventory in the best light. Out front, our sales floor volunteers help our customers find that perfect treasure.

Our volunteers (no matter the task being completed) bring a passion for Legacies and for Cancer Support Community. I am so proud to have started as a volunteer and I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you better.

Of course, our customers are the best in the world – so loyal, so kind, so committed to us as a business and to the idea that “no one faces cancer alone”.

I want to recognize the exceptional staff at Legacies. Although much has changed in the last few months, much also remains the same. We are a team who respect, care about and trust each other. We are excited about the opportunity to put new ideas into play. Watch the Legacies Blog as we implement those changes. There are plans for greater engagement with consignors, plans for attracting new customers and special programming for volunteer development. I am so excited for all of us to have this opportunity to grow together.

Finally, I want to tell you how grateful I am to have this opportunity. I cannot wait to do good work for a great cause with wonderful people. I hope you let me know how I’m doing – good and bad. Please keep me on track, on mission, moving forward. Thank you all for the support you have already shown me.
